We held our AGM recently with about 20 members attending.

I am pleased to welcome Michelle Pilbeam to the committee. Also I thank all the other committee members for agreeing to stay on for another year. Without the commitment of these members we would not exist.

Three of long-standing committee members have given notice that they will not be available at the end of 2010 so I appeal to all our members to consider giving some time to their Club by volunteering to come onto the committee.

It was agreed that our fees would not be increased ? for the third year in a row - but as ASA have increased license fees those members wanting licenses will face a small increase.

The matter of venues for our Annual Awards evening was discussed and it was agreed that a more up market venue would be explored by the committee and that the club would sponsor members for about 50% of the cost. As soon as we have confirmed the venue and cost we will let you know.

Please remember to get your race results in early in the New Year so that we can calculate the awards in a meaningful way. Even if you only did one race please send the spreadsheet in anyway. Quarterly sheets are sent out with each newsletter.

Highway was sad to hear that Willy Ward passed away recently. Willy was a great walker, promoter of walking in KZN and beyond. Our sympathies go to Franki and to his family.

As this is the last chirp for the year I would like to wish all members a happy festive season and a peaceful and prosperous 2010.
