This will be the last Chairman’s Chirp I will be doing as I have stepped down as Chairman and handed the reins over to Dave Bennett. I will however still be on the committee doing the finance. So Dave and I have swopped positions. Thanks to Dave for handling the finance for the club.
I would like to thank the committee members who worked with me during my period as Chairman and kept the Club functioning without any problems and wish Dave all the best as he takes over.
Also Margie Fischer is stepping down from the committee and her huge portfolio will be divided between a number of our members. This will be decided at our next committee meeting. Margie will however stay on for the next two months until we can get the jobs she did handled by the rest of the committee. I would like to thank Margie for all her hard work and dedication she put into keeping the Club informed with her newsletter and all the other work she did.
Antoinette Bennett has been voted onto the committee and will be doing the newsletter.
These changes will not affect the status and running of the Club and it will continue to function as normal.
The gazebo will again be erected at the Westville Illovo Christmas run in December and all our athletes are invited to come to the gazebo after the race for a snack and chat.
Remember the last Ladies Time trial will be at Chiltern on Thursday the 9th November 2017 at 6:00pm. Ladies lets go out with a big attendance and have as many of our runners as possible attend.
As the year draws to a close I would like to wish all our members a safe and peaceful time during the upcoming summer holidays.
Regards Brian Stewart
Cheers for Now but Not Goodbye!
As you have all seen from my recent emails and Brian’s chirp above, I have decided to hang up my Highway Committee hat for a while.
This was not an easy decision to make as not a day goes by without some club activity or communication needing to be sorted out - getting routes ready for the weekend, sending emails for upcoming races, collecting information for newsletters, searching for and collating race results, chatting to Delano about latest website updates. And so the list goes on...
And while I have really enjoyed the last 7 years as your Road Captain and general comms person, I feel that it is time to take a break and afford someone else the opportunity to get involved in the running of our wonderful club.
And so from me, cheerio for now, and as I always say - see you on the road soon!
Happy birthday to the following members who celebrate their birthdays in November:
